Vista back to XP

I'm trying to go back to XP from Vista and am having some problems. When I boot with the Xp disk it starts with the windows setup and then gives me this message:

"A problem has been detected in windows and has been shut down to prevent damage ot your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart you computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any nwly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run chkdsk /f to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Tech. Info:

***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

I just got the computer and havnt really done anything to get a virus. Ran chkdsk and no problems. Any ideas?

Home built or pre-built? If it was pre-owned there is a possibility of a virus.
Give this a try: Enter the Bios-- Expand the "Drives" section-- Go to "SATA Operation"
Change from "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA"

I couldnt find anything exactly how you described but did find an option to disable AHCI and I did that. It then let me install XP. Thanks!
