Hardware Upgrades with Vista System Builder Edition

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition, but it is an OEM system builder's copy that I bought from Newegg. I am thinking of upgrading my motherboard and processor, but keeping everything else, including my hard drives, the same. I have read that the system builder edition will only install on one computer. If I change the motherboard and processor will Vista think that it is running on a different computer and stop working? Thanks.

You will probably just have to reactivate it.

I personally think that if you fitted a new motherboard then Vista would not be able to be re-activated.

I changed a hard drive, cpu and upgraded the memory in a PC I sold and Windows Vista did not like it AT ALL and would not re-activate - until I spoke to a friendly Microsoft person in India (who gave me a code to re-activate Windows).

I'm sure Vista gathers most of it's information from the motherboard to ensure it is only used on one PC.
Even if you used an identical replacement motherboard I'm sure you'd still have problems.

Microsofts policy on changing components on a Vista OEM based system is as clear as mud!
