Trying to delete a folder off my desktop.
All files inside have apparently been deleted already because the folder and subfolder are empty. Vista will not delete the folder and I get the error message: "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in {location}. Verify the item's location and try again"

Have you rebooted since you tried to delete it? Try it and see if it goes away.

Have you disabled UAC?

I have permission for the folder. I always have uac off. I have all prop/security/permissions checked and set at full control. I also use the Take Ownership contex menu app.
The folder was a copy of user files for a game (.sav). I put it there when I uninstalled the game so not to lose my game saves. After reinstalling the game I copied the files back to where they were originally. |

Have you tried to copy the game saves again, and overwrite the folder that you can't delte? And then try to delte it?
Or try to cut the folder and move it to the proper game location?

Yeah, it would just give me the same error again bc vista thought the folder didnt exist anymore.
However, I just found my answer. Instead of command prompt & del {stupid folder} The solution was command promt & rmdir /s {stupid folder} Anyway, thanks for trying to help me. |
