Issues with 3dMark6

Hello,Im having issues getting 3DMark6 running on vista Ultimate x64.When I first installed and launched it I got this error:

This application has failed to start because OpenAL32.dll was not found.Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I found the latest OpenAL32.dll file for vista, downloaded it,copied and pasted it in the system directory and now I get this error when I try to launch it:

The procedure entry point alcGetString could not be located in the dynamic link library OpenAL32.dll.

Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated....I thank you in advance.

Try reinstalling 3DMark06 and make sure you allow it to install the OpenAL libraries.

Hi,thanks again for the reply.I have found a fix for the issue I was Having,I am going to post it in case anyone else has the same issue.

1.) Download OpenAL:
http://connect.creativelabs.com/deve...20Windows.aspx

2.) Extract the installer executable oalinst.exe.

3.) Right click, select Properties, then select Compatibility, and finally select “Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2).” Hit OK.

4.) Run oalinst.exe.

5.) Navigate to C:\Windows\System32. Remove the OpenAL32.dll file from System32 and copy it into the 3DMark06 directory.

6.) Disable compatibility mode on the oalinst.exe installer. Re-run so that the 64-bit version is installed.
