Vista SP2: What’s inside?
On December 2, Microsoft made the latest beta build of SP2 available for download by any TechNet and Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscribers.

According to them, there's a lot of under-the-hood "improvements". Also, a big one to note: SP1 will need to be installed prior to installing SP2.

I installed it two days ago. Works fine. I haven't seen any big differences.

installed yesterday. no problems so far

re: lockups ie7. Installed ie7pro (freebie) no lock up yet, two days.

Grab individual parts of SP2 here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../dd335033.aspx - if a fix is recognized/relevant. Probably not a good idea to install randomly.
