I have an Acer laptop that has been working fine with Vista. Other night after work got on surfed around for couple hours and seemed to get sluggish. So I rebooted well needless too say last time its been on Computer turns on fine and shows Acer splash screen. then goes to black screen with cursor in top left corner and just sits ???
Reason for frustration is I cant use windows disk to replace what "I think" is missing drivers because My cd-rom has been out of commision for months. Any ideas of things I could do Would really like to try to fix on my own. Thanks for any input

You have to set it the first time you use eRecovery or the program won't run. If you've forgotten the password, forum rules forbid discussions on how to recover lost passwords. However, according to this:
http://support-web.acer-euro.com/app...ht=0,eRecovery on older acers, the default password is six zeros. |

Thank you kilegore I found that too but dosn't seem to work for me. I'm sure I set the password and like a lunkhead didnt right it down or remeber it. Keep pecking away at this and now it sometimes comes up with a screen that says, (edit boot options) then gives a path then detecthal /minint/redirect bunch other stuff after that lol. and i can change it dont want too cause not sure what it does hahaha any ideas?
