Asus ACPI Center pop up on start up
This has been bugging me and keeps coming up almost everytime I boot my PC. I have an older PC, designed for XP so I do bear in mind that some things cannot be fixed.
The pop up has no close button so I have to launch task manager to get rid of it. Here it is:

Is it a start up program?
If so, go to start > run > and type "msconfig" Go to the startup tab, and deselect the program that is causing the problem.

I have the exact same problem with a different ASUS board and different OS. (P5Q Pro and Vista 64bit Ultima).
It doesn't happen all the time, but it is maddening when it happens and I would love to hear a fix.

Asus ACPI is nothing but trouble .. for me I had to disable it cos it interrupted my XBOX 360 as a media center extender. Try this:
On Vista (as an admin or with admin rights) go to Task Scheduler (easiest way is to type T-A-S-K ... in the Start Search). From the left .. expand Task Scheduler (Local) and expand Task Scheduler Library. You should see ASUS. Within the ASUS tree , you should see two entries for ASUS ACPI Service Provider and ASUS RegRun Loader .. disable them both and reboot. HTH |

Tried your suggestion but it still seems to do it every so often.

Have you tried deleting the entries completely from you scheduler list (after making a restore point).
