Windows Media Player
I got back from vacation and my new Dell XPS 1530 was waiting for me. I have noticed so far that Windows Media Player doesn't work too well. My display is 1920 X 1200. Here are a few issues I have seen so far:
* When I open a video file it don't play at all. * The video is slow loading when skipping through a video. * I minimized Media Player to the task bar with the Windows Media Player Toolbar enabled and media players disappears. Media player is not under process running nor is it in the applications running. Vista looks nice but if I can't fix this problem than I might just downgrade to XP. Any suggestions? Should I use a smaller resolution? I think I changed it down to 1440 X 900 but it wasn't better. Last edited by MrDravenX; 01-03-2009 at 11:16 PM. |

The last problem I believe might not happened. I heard the video but nothing was opened. I might of heard it through the brower.

What kind of video fil3es are you trying to play?
What are the specs of the computer? Have you tried a different player like vlc or jetaudio to see if it plays better?

Mostly mpeg files.
Dell XPS M1530 Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 2.0Ghz 4GB Ram Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit SP1 I use VLC to play files that Media Player won't only because it usually scrambles the video when I skip and takes a bit to unscramble. I haven't heard of jetaudio. |
