Need codec for Win.7 ????

Can't play my DVD movies on Win. 7. I assume I need to download a CODEC to make Windows Media Player read it ? Suggestions, please.

Have you tried another Media player? FLV is a good one but I don't know if it is compatible with 7.

I am watching DVD movies with Windows Media Player 12. It's possible that when you installed the other player it borked something.

all I use in Win7 is xvid and a AC3filter....this will get DVD and .avi files.... works both in x86 and x64 bit....

core AVC will get you .mkv files for blueray...but only works in x86 I have not gotten it to work in x64bit...

if you use core AVC just install all the defaults in both avc and haali media

Thanks everyone for the replies. Most of my videos DO play with WMP, however one does not. I have downloaded xvid and a AC3filter, but that does not work either. Not a big deal, I will just wait until there are more codecs developed for Win 7. Thanks again for the replies, Mike
