W7 Beta 32bit - 3rd Party Firewall refuses to work!

Hey there,

Of course, I obtained the legal version of W7 beta, and even the official Beta Key and it's already registerd!

W7 has improved a little, but it still need to cut down on the inconsistencies and some unneccessary slowdowns.

Well, my main topic is, all my 3rd party firewalls (Comodo, ZoneALarm) refuses to work on W7, and they are all 32bit and Vista compatible. Forcing compatibility mode on them wouldn't help either. It just causes my network connection to be useless and i have to uninstall them.

So, it is safe and ok to use my own W7 firewall provided?

I would just use the windows firewall behind a router.

oh i see. well, i have a hardware router and a windows firewall already enabled. I'll use this one instead.

Rest of the W7 is cool too. I hope they extend more support of drivers and more backward compatibility, and with less slowdowns too. Heard the news that W7 starts faster than the Vista... not sure is it true or not.

I wouldn't count on 3rd party firwalls being ready for Windows 7 until it's officially released as retail.

Can't count on too many things...HP Deskjet drivers for Vista won't work on my x86 install. Just discovered that this morning.

Although I am testing Windows 7 on virtual box, I was able to install Comodo (using vista compatibility). It seems to work properly, the only issue is an error message every time I start windows 7 which pertains to the Comodo Updating process. I did try ZoneAlarm but it really messed up my Network settings on Windows 7 and I could not get it to connect to the internet. I'm really tempted to try my old copy of sygate just for fun.
