Don't think you can. It's a part of windows. (assuming it's Vista. Not sure how windows 7 works.)

This might work. When you are in the "Add Remove Programs" put a check in "Show Updates". That should expand the list to include Windows Media Player in the Add Remove window. Uninstall anything that refers to WMP.

If you click on Add/Remove Windows Components in Add/Remove ( It's that box on the left in XP I'm not sure about where is is in Vista I remember it as being on the left but it might have been a drop down menu and I don't have Vista to check. ) it should show up as well.

Vista has no way to remove Media Player that I can find. Google confirmed this from several others asking the same question. You can install a different media player and assign it the default file control.

Well in Vista I can't seem to find it even in that Add remove windows program box(can't remember the name it uses in Vista. But What I did for him is when he tries to listen to music, you get that little dialog box that says open with, Well I choose Media Monkey, and put in a check mark that says use each time or something like that. Thanks all for the help..
