My PC will load and work from Safemode but freezes solid when loading mormally at the desktop, nothing works-keyboard mouse nothing but a hard reboot. When I try to load XP pro it freezes at login page again nothing works. When I tried to repair Vista Home Premium with the ihstall disk I got the following message "Repair action:Partition Table Repair
Result:Failed, Error Code=0x490"
I tried to run McAfee under safemode but it wouldn't run.

I was going to change my HDD anyway so I solved the issue by reinstalling MY OS on a new HDD and transfering files from the old one under safemode then reformatting the old HDD. Everything works now although I still don't know what happened and it's enough to drive you crazy.
