window 7 install

I just added a new HD (internal) and want to install W7 (beta I downloaded from M/S).
Not knowing how 7 works, is there a best way to go about this?
Or just boot off the disk.
I read at werestern to : "Disconnect any secondary hard drives (internal or external) from their data cables before starting the Operating System installation process. Data may be written to these hard drives during the Operating System installation process. These secondary hard drives should only be connected back into the computer once the Operating System and system drivers have been completely installed and updated."

So if there is any other help I can get before I start this....

Thanks
B

I just booted off the disk, I left my other drive connected as I have Xp Pro on it and with the boot loader, I can get back on line if there is a problem in 7 that prevents me from getting on line..

I've installed Windows7 beta repeatedly and the suggestion to unplug the hard drives other than the one onto which you want to install is a good one. On one of my installation I reinstalled Windows7 on my data disk. I had a heck of a time getting the system files off the other drive before I moved my data.

Other than that, it's the most simple installation process ever.

Thanks for the advice.
7 loaded with ease. The simplist OS I've loaded.
As far as taking the time to unplugg a wire, I am not as up to date as most ppl here. But I have been doing this for a long time. And what I have learned is that if it can go wrong, it eventually will.
thanks again
