What happens when server 2008 expires?
Does anyone know what happens to server 2008 when it expires? For instance, if you install Server 2008 with out a cdkey, then you re-arm it your 3 allowed times, what happens when that time period is over? Does it completely stop working and require the cd key to be entered immediately, or does it simply start prompting for a cd key on every boot?

What happens is it is time to buy a Key
More than likely it will halt completely. Do you have a CD key for it?

I dont even have it installed yet. I was contemplating on installing it while waiting for my latest action pack to come in and taking the chance that the CD key in the action pack will work. On the very likely chance that it didnt work I was interested in seeing what happened when the trial expired. If it was simply a nag message, I could live with that, especially seeing as I would actually own a license thanks to action pack.
But I have learned it does come to a complete halt, so I guess I will wait to get my correct media and key. |
