Vista won't initialize startup
I just installed Vista x64 this morning onto a brand new Bootcamp partition (I'm using a Mac), and everything was running fine until after it installed the updates it automatically downloaded and installed. I don't know if it's normal, but it took Vista about 5-10 mins just to get to the welcome screen, then it was immediately loaded. But then i restarted it, and i received an error message saying that Vista could not initialize startup, and for me to put the Vista disc in, and repair the installation. I tried that, and the disc had no such option for repair. So what happened to the installation?
This is the original message: ![]() And this is what i get when i try last known good config:

Can you get into safe mode?
Might want to just try to reinstall it again. Did you do the apple updates, or windows updates?

Yea i get the same blue screen of death message when i tried all 3 safe modes. Yea this all happened after i installed the available Windows updates. Do you have any ideas of what could be the cause of it?

Probably a windows update that doesn't agree with it.
Did you install any hardware updates from microsoft? |

I guess i'll go back to not installing any updates again. No, i didn't install any hardware updates through Microsoft, i don't trust them in that respect.

Could try to just select the critical updates, and then read over the rest. Don't install anything you don't need.
And I would also try to do only a few at a time. |

Yea, i was looking at the updates, and they were all "critical" security updates. It's SP1 though, i don't think it got around to installing SP2. But i have a question, what's Server 2008, coud that be used as an OS?

Server 2008 is an operating system, but it's geared towards servers. Not really made for the average desktop computer.
And sp2 isn't out yet, as far as i know. I would try to redo the partition. Make sure it has enough space as well. |

Yea i just got done installing Windows 7, doesn't have support for my graphics card utilities, so i can't use my external monitor with it unfortunately. So i'm just trying to figure out what i'm going to do now.
