Upgrade Win7 Beta with Win7 RC1

Hello
As you know now Win7 RC1 has been released. The only bad thing is that Microsoft disabled the Update Feature on Win7 RC1 so there is only a NEW INSTALL possible.
As Microsoft writes on it's Website that it's possible to transfer the DATA of existing WIN7 Beta after RC7 has been installed using it's Tool, which you can download from MSsoft website there is more Easy Way to Upgrade WinBeta.

Follow this and you will be able to UPDATE Win7 BETA instead of a NEW install of Win7 - RC1.

1. Copy the entire Win7RC1 DVD to your Hard drive to a directoy of your choice "as example \Setup\Win7RC1 " on Your Win7 Beta Computer.
2. After Copy has completed change the Directory to \Sources
3. Search for a file named CVERSION.INI
4. Open the file to Edit..
5. this File has following Entries:

[HostBuild]
MinClient=7077.0
MinServer=7000.0

6. Change the 2nd. Line that it reads:
MinClient=7000.0
7.Save the File

Go back to the Root DIR of the COPIED Win7 RC1 and right click on the File

SETUP.exe and select RUN AS Administrator..

Win7-RC1 will UPDATE Win7Beta
All your files and Settings will stay the same..
Even If you have previousely used the Administrator Account, then Win7-RC1 uses this account . Which is not given by a new Install.

Happy computing..
