I have been doing a lot of research on the web and I am having no luck. My last shot lies here with you guys (: . My PC seems to hibernate, shutdown, or restart on its own from time to time. I have no idea what the cause is. My lab top is plugged in and only a year old (loaded with vista) and I'm running RC 7. I have all updates, and my computer dosn't have any heating problem. This never happened when I ran vista. Does anyone have the answer to this problem? Based on my research, I see in other forums that this problem occurred during the beta as well....

No one knows? I loosing hope. If I can't figure it out then I'm going to have to wipe and think twice about buying Windows 7.

I would be looking at your setup and what settings you may have, and how it was installed, if you laptop runs good with vista, then it will run good with W7rc.

No one? Ah, I had some good hopes for this OS system but it looks like I'm going to uninstall it and thin twice about buying it. But this isn't the final version though....hope they can fix it.

This may be a little obvious, so I apologize if you've tried it already, but go to start(windows button in this case) > control panel > hardware and sound > under power options click 'change power-saving settings' and then from there click on the right where it says 'change plan settings'. Here you can change when the system goes into sleep mode, hybernate, etc. by choosing when the monitor will shut off and when the HDD will go into hybernate. If that doesn't work, let me know there are more options than that. Hopefully this helps.

Okay, thanks man. I have actually gone and totally formated my drive and put a fresh copy in. I have an acer labtop and when it came, the partitioned the disk into two which i really didn't like anyway. So far so good though. It hasn't shut down yet. I let it go through the night.
