Dell's Win7 upgrade option?

I've been looking into some laptops from dell, and was wondering what the policy was going to be about win7 upgrades.

The only semi-official thing I've been able to find is here (posted June 2nd): http://en.community.dell.com/blogs/d...e-program.aspx

Basically, purchases made "later this summer" would be eligible for a Windows 7 upgrade option. The upgrades won't be shipped until October 22nd (when Win7 is officially released). I'm sure there are also conditions as to what products or software will have to be purchased to take advantage of the upgrade, but there's no official mention of what those conditions would be.

A comment made after the postmentions that purchases made after June 26 would be eligable, but that's not the official word as far as I can tell yet. Another comment listed elsewhere is that the Win7 upgrade option would be only for business laptops purchased with the XP downgrade...but again, not the official word as far as I can tell.

Anybody else catch wind of this?

Windows 7 Upgrade Programs Will Start Soon, Vary by Vendor
http://www.pcworld.com/article/16656...by_vendor.html

Three Taiwanese PC makers plan to provide a coupon for a free Windows 7 upgrade to anyone who buys a new desktop or laptop PC loaded with Vista Home Premium, Vista Ultimate or Vista Business between June 26 and the time Windows 7 launches globally on Oct. 22, according to executives from the companies.
