Why can't I see my Pictures folder?
I'm setting up a Windows 7 64-bit (RC) system for the in-laws and running into an annoyance as I try to get some scripts configured properly. For debug purposes I'm trying to access a picture in the Pictures folder in my user folder. The problem is, I can't see the Pictures folder using Explorer.
In my user folder, Explorer shows me My Pictures, My Music, My Documents, etc., plus the corresponding Music, Documents, etc. that I believe are links for XP compatibility. But no Pictures. If I open a command line window and do a dir in that folder I see Pictures, Music, Documents, etc., but no My Pictures, My Music, My Documents, etc.
What's going on? I'm guessing the My Pictures link is set up differently, causing Explorer to hide the linked-to Pictures folder. If so, how do I fix it to be like the others? Why does the dir command show the folders and not the links?
Thanks for any help on this.
