Vista upgrade serial question
My one and only copy of Vista is a 32-bit Home Premium academic upgrade copy that I bought at my University's bookstore. I upgraded long time ago and everything was fine. With my recent pc rebuild I wanted to opt for 64-bit, so I went to Microsoft's website and requested the 64-bit version mail swap for $10. I let the site scan / validate my system, everything checked out ok, and a sleeve containing two cds (32-bit and a 64-bit + SP2) came in the mail last week. Apparently my current serial is supposed to work, but it refuses to activate because it's an upgrade only key.
So, do you think I'd be able to get another serial if I called Microsoft and explained? I'm going to call them in the morning and find out, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience in doing it.
