I'm upgrading for the first time in 4 years and I'm going to need to use Media Centre alot so Vista seems the obvious choice but I'm pretty happy with XP, can anyone convince me that Vista is worth it?

first I would recommend that you make sure that all your hardware and software will run on vesta.
there is a compatability test program on the vesta home page that will test your sestem to see if everything will run ok. also you may want to be sure that you have all the drivers that you may need for vesta. |

Hi
You might want to consider downloading Windows 7 RC and installing it along with your current XP set up in a dual boot configuration. Windows 7 installs in only about 20 min. My computer is set up this way right now and I love Windows 7! The only time I have booted into XP is to use my scanner (because there are no Windows 7 drivers yet). In addition you will not only not have to buy Vista, if you are part of the beta program you can preorder Windows 7 Home Premium for $49 from Amazon. Windows 7 is the best operating system that Microsoft has ever had and it's still in beta. I have not had problems getting drivers for anything other then my Epson scanner. Video, sound, printer, etc. all have Windows 7 drivers available, but by keeping XP until fall you are covered. Mike Ps. You have until August 15 to download it.
