Question Vista to XP???

Hey all,
Just wondering if I can uninstall Vista & Install XP on my daughters PC. We bought it for her maybe a year ago and she hates it. Will all of the hardware/ MOBO/ RAM /HD/ CDROM ect. work with XP? If so, what steps should I take to do this? Any help would be great. Thanks!

First step is to see if you can find XP drivers for all of the parts.

Thanks Ezy,
Wouldn't those be on the XP disc? or would I have to search the manufacturers websites for drivers? Would I need a driver for the MOBO too or just the other hardware?

Things that will need a driver:

mother board chipset
nic/lan
video card
sound card

You should look on the manufacturers website for them.

Thanks Shadowpr,
I will check for those. If I can get the drivers, then all shoud be o.k.? Are these steps correct?

1. save all wanted files on CDRW or Flash
2. format HD
3. Install WinXP
4. Install Drivers
5. Replace saved files.

Thanks for the help guys.

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Add a step between 4 and 5 - Update XP at Windows Update.
