Is Windows 7 beta all that good?
I want to nuke my hard drive and reinstall XPee. A twitter friend suggested I go Windows 7. I am far from an early adopter of any OS. I didn't get XP til after George (glc) did.
That said, I am disappointed in how fast my last XP install got corrupt. Sooo, is Win 7 all that good? If it is, please see my specs below and tell me if my system is Win 7 ready. And if I load the beta how much will the OS cost me when that goes kaput in a year? Thanks in advance. EDIT: Oh yeah, will my applications work in Win 7? Like Outlook 2002 and all?

Search out the "Scan My PC and tell me what you think" software that always comes out when new OS's are released.
If you do switch - you might as well wait a few more weeks and get the final release. You can't upgrade a Beta version - you have to do a full install. If you really like XP, you can get a really nice LCD for the price of Win 7.

You can download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on your system and it will give you a readout of software and hardware that will/won't work with W7:
