IE 8 Crasher with Vista OS

Everytime I go and open up IE, it stops responding. I can not click on a link, scroll pages or anything.. Sometimes the screen will turn white, then it will refresh itself. After a few seconds everything is ok, and I can do what ever I want.. I can't seem to find any error messages in even viewer.. MS support hasn't been any use. I have sp2 and all updates installed. All drivers for Video card, monitor etc are up to date.. Specs in sig..

Think I found the problem, it is with my choice of home page foxnews.com. When I choose blank as my home page everything is fine. Next I changed it to cnn.com and it is also working fine.. No only if fox fixes it web page i can go back to using it..

I get occassional lockups with IE on Vista Ultimate too. But, tonight, Fox News is really messing it up. I think you're right DD. Fox News is the issue. I actually had to use the Task Manager to shut it down one time.

I'd tread carefully on the Fox news site. We've had 3 users come in our shop in the last 2 weeks claiming to have been browsing through Fox's web site when they started getting pop ups saying that they were infected with this and that. Now before anyone goes flying off the handle... I am not implying that Fox news is doing something malicious. I'm just saying that maybe the site has been compromised. We usually don't link any one site with the infections that we see in our shop but I did find a little strange given that it was 3 different people in a 2 week period. (rather small town btw)

You could also tell IE8 to load all sites in compatability mode and then check Fox's site again.

I tired the compatibility mode with the same result.. I even shut down google tool bar for a few minutes, as MS said it could cause it as well.. They have no solution to fix the problem if it is a home page issue which mine is.. So I fired off a email to fox, will see if I get a response..
