Hi Gang
Have a 500G External backup, what is a good back up program.? One simple to use and one that is reliable. Free or buy it, no matter. I have tried Retrospect and Acronis, not very happy with either one. Thanx..Gunny

Hi Faulkner
Thanx for the reply, and the info. I will look that over. Some people are afraid of these free sites but there are some real good freebies out there. One thing too that seems to happen is both my wife's and my External back up units seem to come on by itself. Is this normal.? Or is something wrong going on.? It always amazes me to have so many look at a post and so few to try giving an answer. Are we all turning into askers and not ready to supply answers.? Surly there has to be some people out there that have great answers and are willing to post them on here. Thanx and take care.....Gunny...P.S. GLC this is my 1,000 post |

You can also search PCMech and see the 1200 other times this backup question has been asked
![]() You'll find several referrals about SyncBack being good. |

Hi ezystvy
You are right about all the times people have been asking the same question, maybe this is something that needs more questions asked. By all the lookie loos like 65 of them, looking for answers. All those posts asking about Backup program evidently have not been getting good answers. If you see 65 posts to this question there has to be 10 times that amount out there not posting, but having the same problem trying to find a good, reliable, safe, easy to understand, back up program. I don't care if it is a freebie or it cost you a few bucks. What price can you put on your valuable info. But just because it cost you a few bucks don't nec make it any better then a freebie. Of the 65 they are looking for the same answers I am, right.? We are asking the smart people here on PCmech for good suggestions/answers. I have posted here on PC for a long time, and don't get me wrong I appreciate every bit of info I get, but there seems to be less answers coming back to these posts then there use to be. Am I wrong here.? Thanx...Gunny |

Don't worry about the "view" count of a thread...I peaked in three times before I had a chance to write. (i'm suppose to be working)

Hi Ezystvy
No not worried about the count, but it does show me something. I can remember posting years ago, and before you could get it done you had 5 answers or people posting to it. A little exaggeration but a little true too. It just points out to me at least there are still a lot of people interested in finding a good back up program. Add some more to the 1200 you talked about. And I am sure there will be more after this. :-) Of all the good programs out there for every thing you can think of why is it so hard to get one for such an important item as this.? I know we all have diff choices and likes and dislikes, but still. Now get back to work. Take care....Gunny |
