Windows Mail "Re-Receiving" messages
Hi guys,
One of my PC's is having an issue with Windows Mail. This morning I received a few emails with 20mb's worth of photo attachments. I viewed and deleted the messages, but every time I check my email, Windows Mail keeps receiving these same messages in my inbox again and again. It seems to be causing a 'clog' in my email checking, and Windows Mail can no longer receive messages without timing out or running into an error. |

I only used Windows Mail once, however, is there a setting that is keeping the emails on the mail server? That is what I would look for.
I just set up my charter account in Windows Live Mail, and by default "leave a copy of messages on server" this under Properties (of the email account) then click on the Advanced tab, look under Delivery at the bottom.

Another possibilty is that the mail is stuck in the senders outbox and is sending more then once. Try to contact that person and check it out.
And, does you ISP have an online email where you can go and attempt to delete it? |

Thanks for your helpful suggestions, guys. I think somehow the message with the attached pictures was corrupt. After spending some time with my ISP's tech support, I hit on the idea mentioned by Ezystvy and was able to delete the re-occuring message by accessing my email through it's online interface.
It was really a strange thing - I don't think i've ever experienced a problem like that in my entire computing life. I appreciate the help! |
