default user name
i brought a laptop and want to change the username in the volatile enviroment i try modify the key and change the name but when reboot the name is still there. is it anyway i can change the username in the volatile enviroment in window vista please thanks

I'm not sure what volatile enviroment means, but have you looked in Control Panel->User Accounts?
