Printer Help! Not printing IE pages...

I have a printer connected to the network and it prints everything from every computer except one... From that computer I can print program windows, test pages, MS word, etc... but I can't print ANY Internet Explorer pages... Whether I right click print or go up to print from the top options, nothing prints out... There are no error messages and no documents pending...

I'm stumped... Computer is Windows Vista and IE is v8...

Not as a solution but as a temporary work around, you can copy and past it to MS Word and then print it from Word.

The items we need to print aren't really copy/paste items... Wish it was that easy...

I know this sounds like a copout, but have you tried an alternate browser such as Firefox? It wouldn't hurt from a troubleshooting standpoint if nothing else. I'd also consider reverting to IE7.

I personally like FireFox being in the IT part of it but the boss will make a fuss if I change from IE... I'll try rolling back to IE7... I hate leaving problems unsolved so I might wait until tomorrow just in case someone can figure this one out...

FireFox prints without a problem for the most part...

One problem with FireFox though... One of our vendors uses a DOS based popup window for their parts... When I go to file print there, it says "Your Browser Rejects Access To The Printer"... It uses Sun Java to open up a Mocha TN3270 window...

I'll be contacting that Vendor tomorrow to see if they know how to fix that problem, I can't be the first to come accross that...

Found a temp solution!

I can print in IE 8 if I right click the icon and "run as admin"... This account is a non-admin account and the boss doesn't want the users to know the password... I thought I had this user setup for printing permissions (since it can print EVERYTHING but IE 8) but obviously I failed somewhere...

What can I do to fix this WITHOUT changing this user to a admin or having to put in a password for them everytime they open up IE...

I'm moving this to the Vista forum for you. My answer would be to dump Vista and put XP on the machine, but I get the impression that's not exactly what you want to hear.......

At this point no... So far though I'm only one problem short for each brower... IE 8 wont print unless it's running "run as admin" and FireFox wont print the Java based Mocha DOS window or whatever it is...

Thanks though...

Since I couldn't find a resolution, I ended up going back to IE7 without any problems...
