laptop internet disconnecting
There are 2 laptops that i have done system restores on that are having the same problems at my school either wired/wireless. Both have Vista SP1 installed, and they have told me of problems when using certain websites and programs like Facebook and iTunes, that their internet cuts out sometimes. I'm guessing it's just our internet here at school, but what could it really be?

Is the school possibly blocking or filtering those sites?

No, i don't think so, because i don't have any problems with my computer. And the same happens when she is using the itunes store through iTunes.
