Windows 7 is very buggy and flawed
I'm running the 32 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium and whilst I appreciate it has just been released, it is very bug ridden and not without it's flaws.
(1) Running 3DMark06 reduces my score form around 9000 in Vista to 6000 in 7 - and that's with a new Intel Quad Core processor installed. (2) Windows Live programs do not install - they get to 100% then roll back to uninstalled??? (3) Internet Explorer crashes and burns constantly. Either I get errors or the computer just locks up. I'm typing this using Firefox without a problem. (4) Many driver issues. (a) 7 keeps losing my monitor driver and dropping the resolution to below what it should be. (b) 7 keeps creating a 'copy' of my printer. I'm up to copy 6 now. (c) For my keyboard a 32bit Vista driver existed and worked but 7 is not compatible? I don't get it. Of course, if anyone has any answers to the above then great but I'm not holding my breath. I'm a few days away from trying the 64bit version. Colin.

What hardware are you running, are the drivers Win7 ready, and is this with a clean install and not already chock full of software or an upgrade?

Thanks for the replies guys.
ForceFlow, My hardware specs are in my signature. No, it's a clean install of Windows 7 (I'd never do an upgrade). All the hardware drivers seem to be installed ok except for the Microsoft keyboard - which does not have a driver. MaxRat, What is the event viewer? Colin. |

Check with the MS site for a new driver for your kbd. I just installed Win7 and when I tried to install my Intellitype software, it failed and offered a solution search. The search took me to the MS site and I found they have Intellitype 7.0 for Windows 7. |
