Clean Install of Windows 7 - will need to install drivers?

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-CR123E/ Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300, 3 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium).

I am going to clean install Windows 7.

Of course I will back everything up, etc.

However, for the system drivers; will I need to go to Sony's site and manually install all of the drivers, or is there a way to backup/export the current drivers on my machine?

Thanks!

Windows 7 seems to have all the drivers built in from what I've seen. You should run the Win7 upgrade advisor first to determine if it will work properly on your laptop.

Thanks for the reply - you've helped me on a few other topics and I greatly appreciate all your help.

My notebook has the extra toys such as the Synaptics® PS/2 Port TouchPad and a built-in camera. I suspect I would have to install those drivers myself?

Just to make sure I understand - Windows 7 should install the drivers for me such as for audio, graphics card, BIOS, MBO, network, modem and wireless LAN?

I did run the wndows 7 adviser and it is compatible with my system.

Windows 7 will install some drivers, but it is highly recommended that you check for updates, especially graphics drivers.

When you say check for updates - do you just mean Windows Updates?

Check Sony's site for the most up-to-date drivers, and I would double-check your graphics drivers on the ATi/nVidia site just to be sure you have the latest and greatest.
