Transfer of Outlook Express information?
I just got a new laptop that has Vista on it. How can I get all of my emails and contact info from my old laptop running XP to the new laptop?
Can I copy or export a pst file? Will that work? Thanks |

Copy the PST file to the new machine and then Import it...
Might also want to seek out the Outlook.NK2 file and copy it - replace the new one. It contains all of the typed addresses you see when you start a new mail. |

Outlook express does not have those files. Outlook (without the "express") does.
What mail client will you be using on Vista? Windows Live Mail, or something else? Here's some export instructions for Outlook Express: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270670

http://www.vista4beginners.com/Migra...o-Windows-Mail is a good walkthru.
PS: I've changed your subject from "Outlook" to "Outlook Express" .. very different s/w packages with very different steps. |
