File Sharing. Windows 7 Ultimate & Windows XP Home
Hello,
I have been trying to setup file sharing and printer sharing from my windows 7 (ultimate) to my windows xp (home) computer. I succeeded in setting up printer sharing. However file sharing seems to be an entirely different ball game. I have disabled both firewallss on both computers to no avail. Checked all the options in windows 7 homegroup settings using a tutorial. However I'm still not getting no where when you try to join the shared folder via explorer (using the IP or address) or through "my networks places" it provides the error message "you do not have the permission to access this bla bla" Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Try adding a password to the XP user profile and re-logon.
Then from the 7 machine you'll be promoted to enter a user name and password. |
