Power Toys for W7?
Can anyone tell me if there is an equivalent program for Windows 7 that compares with Windows XP Power Toys?
I am looking for something that will allow me to easily reduce the file size of a jpeg. This worked great with XP and I am hoping something similar is available for W7. I have looked at a few but they are all 'Free Trial' versions, and then you send in the $30 to $50 annual fee later. I don't need it that bad. Thanks...... pg |

I don't know what you consider "easy", but MS Paint will do it.

Thanks, but I have and use Capture NX to reduce the file size now. The Power Toy with XP was a lot less trouble and I was hoping there is something like that.
I am beginning to think nothing has been developed yet. I understand Power Toys was something developed by employees of Microsoft and not officially supported by MS. Thanks...... pg Last edited by piniongear; 11-20-2009 at 08:45 AM. |

I wonder if irfanview runs on Win7. I was surprised to find it ran on Vista.

Try this here it's called Prish Image Resizer http://www.powerhourgame.com/windows...ge_resizer.htm
It's free and I use it to resize a bunch of pix just like I did with XP |

With the old PowerToy for XP all I had to do was right click an image and the drop down had a resize choice. It was then make the choice of large, medium, or smaller and I was done. I do not want to resize an entire folder or batch of photos, but rather just one at a time and get it done quickly. So far, none of the suggestions are what I want, but thanks for the ideas and suggestions guys. pg |
