Problems installing Win 7

I am trying to install windows 7 on my computer which has Win Vista on it. In running the compatability section of the installation, it tells me i must remove Trend Micro Internet Security 2009. This program has been uninstalled, as i now use Norton 360. It also tells me to uninstall Google Toolbar, which i did. It stops the installation every time telling me to uninstall Trend. What do i do now?

Your computer probably still has some registry entries and/or folders relating to Trend left over from the removal. See if Trend has a removal tool on their site to clean up the entries.

Hi

You could try downloading CCleaner and run it's registry cleaner.
I usually find a few left over registry entries after uninstalling something.

It will also get rid of a lot of crap if you run the clean function.
I've used it for years and it has never caused any problems.

There are registry cleaners that have a fee attached that may do a more through job but CCleaner is free.

Win7 installation problems

Thank all of you for your help. Trend does have a diagnostic tool you can download & use to uninstall Trend programs. Evidently the uninstall from the control panel didn't remove everything, but their tool did. Win7 now is installed, I just have to get used to it. Thanks again.
