Windows 7 Starter Memory Limit
I am looking at buying a Dell Netbook (the Mini 10v) with Windows 7 Starter installed on it. The maximum amount of RAM that Dell installs on the Mini 10v is 1 GB. Would I be able to install 2 GB on it on an aftermarket basis?
Apparently 1 GB is a limit that Dell can not exceed. Is this 1 GB limit an artificial restriction to which Microsoft contractually limits manufacturers who build systems with Windows 7 Starter OR is this a real limit to which the Dell Mini 10v with Windows 7 Starter can not exceed? |

Posting a link to the machine would be nice
![]() But odds are real good if Dell says the machine can ONLY use one gig then one gig it is (they know their machines rather well)I'm running Win7 RC Ultimate on an older Socket A cpu machine with 1.2 gigs of ram and it runs fine. |

For what it's worth, I have a Celeron 1.8Ghz laptop with 1GB Ram that shares with the video memory and I just upgraded to Windows 7 Premium... it runs great, better than Vista did.
