Windows memorises opening settings?

Hi

I should have said application windows opening setting.

I saw a post on another forum from someone who is having problems with Windows 7 32 when it opens windows.

He states that every window he opens mimics the one before it i.e. if he closes a window that is 1/4 or the screen then every other window he opens after that opens in the same format until he resizes one and then they all take on that characteristic.

That isn't the case on my computer, every window opens in what ever configuration it was when I closed it, even after rebooting.

Does anyone know if there is someplace where you can configure this action or is this some kind of glitch?

I have looked and I don't find anything.

Mike

My XP and Vista machine both do this - BUT only for NotePad for example that I just tested.

If I monkey around with another app like Excel - then all future Excel windows open like the new setting.

Are you comparing the same app window sizes?

I believe that he is saying that any application that he opens starts in the same configuration as the last one that he closed not the same as the present one when it closed.

I.e. If he closes Microsoft word set at 1/4 of the page then opens Adobe Photoshop it will open at one quarter of the page even if it was full screen when he closed. It and does't remember the setting for the individual windows as my computer does..
