Win7 not waking up
I've got older desktop running Win7 pro (32bit). Haven't had any problems except when I try to access the desktop from laptop; Win7 pro (64bit), all connected on home network. Desktop hardwired to router. Unless the desktop is fully awake, I can't even see it listed as being part of the network. I am guessing I need to make some setting to wake up the desktop.
I did ask a 'tech' friend who told me to uncheck the box for "only allow a magic packet to wake up the computer" located in the properties of the network adapter inside the device manager. He is unavailable for further questions at this time. Suggestions, comments, advice??? Thanks.
