Windows Calendar on Windows 7
I want to install the Windows Vista Calendar on Windows 7, has anyone figured out how to do that yet?
![]() I really liked that the Vista calendar would give you a event reminder pop-up up reminding you of task that where at hand? I understand that the Windows Live Mail now includes Calendar, but I really don't have to depend on the whole Live setup. I just want Vista's perfect little Calendar. |

If anyone has another calendar software that does what I want, I would love to know about it. I have looked and haven't found anything yet that I really like.
*I am looking for software that has event reminders that will pop up for created events. *A program that can start with windows in the background and will initialize without worry. *Well designed and aesthetically pleasing. *Not necessary to be online or have connectivity to access it Last edited by jgilbreath04; 12-20-2009 at 02:13 PM. |

I use the Lightning add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird but you could try Sunbird which is the stand alone calendar app.
Like I said, I haven't used it myself but it appears very similar to what I'm using and should do everything you're asking for.

Well, Mozilla's calendar "Sunbird" has been working just great. It is not as aesthetically pleasing as the Vista calendar was it has all the same functionality that I was looking for.
The only thing that it does not do is run in the background to alert you of task. Once you have closed it forget about getting reminders. I tested this numerous times just to make sure this was the case. Sadly this is a fatal flaw for me, although if this isn't a particular worry for you by all means I suggest giving it a try. Lots of functionality and powerful scheduling capabilities. |
