Windows Vista OEM with new motherboard?

My sisters PC has went bad and the fault is a dead motherboard.

The motherboard is a number of years old but I noticed a replacement on ebay so I was going to order it but I need to ask a question first...

What is the situation regarding Windows Vista OEM Home Premium and swapping out the motherboard?

You will have to have it reactivated, if it is not the same one.

It depends...Dell DVD's for example are pre-activated so its a non issue..

On the other hand the OEM keycode follows the mobo.

On the other other hand - you might have to activate by phone.

I meant to say, the replacement motherboard is the same model.

Thanks for the replies!
