I am trying to Install Win 7 on my computer. It currently has xp running on it. I have tried to boot the comp with the install disk in it. It just goes to Xp. dont know what im doing. The computer is new I just had xp installed untill I could get 7.
Trying to install Windows 7 64 bit OEM for system builders disk Installed Windows xp My boot sequence is: 1st sata4s-WDC5000 2nd CDrom s-dvd-rom D3rd Removable dev System ASUS M4A77TD AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard EVGA 01G-P3-1155-TR GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus 2.8GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor |

Access your "boot order" feature and then you need to change the first selection to read cd-rom/dvd-rom as #1. Your current setting is for the WD hdd being the first in order and then your optical drive. The change is executed by either arrow direction keys or + "plus" or -"minus" keys on the numeric keypad. The instructions are usually posted somewhere close so keep an eye.
Once you have the settings correct, you'll need to save the boot order otherwise it will revert to the original settings. |
