No audio support for older pc running 7
So I just upgraded my pc to Windows 7 professional from the 7 beta I installed last year. I wasn't expecting trouble but I ran into it. I went to install my audio drivers for my Realtek '97 on board my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (yes I know, its old) but I get an error. It tells me that the install is for Vista 32/Vista 64. Since they usually don't offer 7 drivers on older stuff I can usually get away with running Vista stuff. In this case it won't. Any suggestions?

Replace or add in a newer sound card.

Go to realtek.com.tw, and download their generic AC97 driver for Win 7.

I don't really want to spend money on a new card when I already have decent onboard sound. I was thinking about getting a generic driver but was a little anxious about problems I may encounter. Thanks for your suggestions
