stupid question 32bit vs 64bit

DO NOT BOTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE WHEN BUYING 32bit and 64bit
see below

OK, I just read a post stating that you could run a 64bit ver. on a 32bit system. I thought not.
My RC1 beta will die tonight. So I need to get with it.
I know I am going to upgrade to a newer PC soon and it will be a 64bit. So, if I buy a 32bit OS of 7 now it will not do me any good in the future when I go to 64bit.

If you can run 64bit on a 32bit system I would be better off buiying that so I could use it in the future. That is my thinking.

Please set me straight on this.
Thanks
Brian

answering my own question, and for anyone else interested...
With previous versions of Windows, you had to decide at the time of purchase if you wanted the 32 bit or 64 bit version of the OS. Windows 7 has thrown that to the wind, and now both 32 bit and 64 bit versions will be part of the same box. You still have to decide which one to install but you don’t have to answer this question at the time of buying Windows 7.
