How to re-install Win7 upgrade?

Hi

I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I currently have some issues that I think can only be resolved by a re-install.

How do I achieve this - do I have to re-install Vista and then upgrade again or what?

Alternatively, what if I do a HD reformat?

I did a similar option to you with the Win7 upgrade, and had to reinstall. At that point I just stuck in the Win7 DVD and booted from it but when it came to the Upgrade or Custom install option...the first time the Custom install was greyed out...but this time it wasn't so I clicked it and got the option to reformat the drive and did so. Ended up getting the Win7 that wasn't the upgrade version.

I know this is not the way it SHOULD have gone, but it did. You could try sticking in the Win7 DVD.

Thanks for that info ryuk999 - very illuminating, and I will give it a go.
