Unable to flash Bios
On my Dell Inspiron 1501 I have been receiving a 'battery not recognized by system' warning at boot.
apparently, this is a common error, and Dell has a downloadable fix (bios update), however when I try to install the update I get a 'you do not have administrative privilages, log on and try again' message. I am the only user, and I certainly am the administrator, I'd appreciate any help regarding this.

Are you trying to update the bios through windows? If so, I recommend you don't and do it from a bootable disk instead.
