NTFS Junction Points

Hi I am hoping to try to rig something up on my system and I'm not sure how. I thought of using junction points but I'm having trouble with that in Win 7 and maybe it's not the best thing to use.

Here's what I want:
I have a 160GB SATAII drive I'm using to boot from. I made a small 25GB partition at the beginning of the disk for windows to install. This actually made my pc boot in half the time as before, it would always take about 3-3.5 min, now it's at 1-1.5 min. I have 7+ GB free even after installing all my apps. Now the only problem is that I wish I could dump large stuff on my desktop like before, so I thought of just making a Junction to a working folder and link it to my desktop folder so all the files show up on the desktop but are actually located on another disk/partition.

I suppose I could just extend the windows partition but I'd rather not. Does anyone have a suggestion, simply put I want a folder on the second partition to display on the desktop.

Thanks.
