Windows 7 Query

Just bought a new acer aspire laptop running windows 7. I installed Regseeker which i have used for years on my other computers. I was surprised to see it pick up over 6000 items. ranging from: file type not used, obsolete entry, unused open with entry, invalid active x/com entry and file or path does not exist. Does anybody know if this is normal and can i safely remove them please?

When in doubt about the things being removed - DON'T Remove anything.

Even if you aren't in doubt - backup your important data.

Removing 6000 items out of about a few million won't any different either way - unless of course you remove something you shouldn't have.

The only problem i see is that each time i run regseeker it is going to throw up these entries if i do not remove them. It will be virtually impossible to see any new entries amongst these.

I'd highly recommend you stop running RegSeeker. BOOM - problem goes away and the thread is closed. (in theory YOU should only delete items YOU know are safe to delete)

But, if you must - I always select the Green items and zap them if and when I run Regseeker.
