saving a file takes several minutes
Hi,
I just bought 2 new PCs for our optical designers in our company. They are identical based on G41 Intel motherboard and 1 320G HD partitioned to 2. They are both running Windows 7 PRO. I mapped 2 local network drives. I installed the optics software (Zemax) which requires installing a USB sentinal key. The problem is that while running the program in about 50% of the times saving a file takes several minutes. I can click the save button but nothing happens. the PC is still responsive( I can cancel the save or click save again) but nothing is saved for 30sec to 3 min. If this happens once it will occur every time I save. The support of Zemax could not help me and they suspect it has something to do with the OS. It seems to me as if there is a drive that is not found and this delays saving the file but any suggestion for a fix will be more than welcomed (try working while it takes you 3 minutes to save )thank amose |

Try running the program with elevated privileges. Right click the program and choose run as administrator.
