Win.7 shut down ?

I just noticed in the HP manual they say "Windows 7 recommends that you never shut down your computer, rather put it on sleep mode. I have installed Win.7 on several machines and I have never seen this before. Is this strictally a H.P. thing ?

Hi

I have never seen this message.
I turn my computers off every night when I'm done using them.

I know there are people who say never turn off you computer but I think this kind of goes back to the days when you never knew if it would boot up again when you shut it down.

Here is one of many opinions but it is my opinion as well.

I also always figure that if it's on it can be hacked, if it's off it can't.

Mike
