Windows 7 blue screen problem

I have Windows 7 but when I get flash player it first install the DLM plugin, then it installs Flash Player then thereafter my computer will continually crash with blue screen and reboots even after uninstalling the player and DLM including manual deleting of any remaining traces on my hard drive.

I am never able to use my computer unless I reinstall the OS. I am wondering if this is a Flash Player issue (so it seems) or something else?

What does the blue screen say? What is the stop code?

There was not enough time to read it unfortunately.

I already restored Windows to factory so at the moment I am skeptical to reinstall Flash Player.

Other video formats like WMP and itunes play ok.

I was wondering if I install just the player minus the DLM if it will work but it seems like Adobe is forcing the bundle on you at their website so maybe I can just get the player only from another website?

BTW plugin for firefox not ie

I also noticed the computer was crashing even after sitting idle and not just when using the player.

Thanks
Dave

See if it crashes again without the flash player. If it doesn't, then go to adobes site and install just the flash player. they should make you download anything else.

To be able to see the stop code: Control Panel > System And Maintenance > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > Under Startup And Recovery > Click Settings > Clear the Automatically Restart check box > click OK

Yes, I meant to read and follow that process (just did anyway thanks) but in my quest I found that there are issues with Flash Player on 64Bit Windows 7 Machines using FF so I applied the patch I found if I can share the link in this forum. Don't remember if i can do that.

So far it is working ok. Hopefully long term anyway. It worked for others according to the thread.

If it bombs I will definitely follow your advise.

Thanks a lot
Dave
